Buffon also said he liked West Ham because of the communist hammers. He'd soon change his mind if he went on here!

Did not expect that performance from the Italians.

, 11:42 Mon Jun 13 Re: Belgium v Italy I can see Ogbonna getting a start the way some defenders have been yellowed.
Will see him in the 3rd game against Ireland I reckon.
If Italy beat Sweden of Friday they are almost gauranteed to top the group, the lads on one yellow will get the 2nd card against the Swedes and free themselves up for the next stage.

Yes, seems there were a few good keepers just before Buffon's time, but he is indeed the first long term monarch, so to speak, who's made the part their own since the great Zoff.
And after reading that quote about us, I too hope he graces our new home with Juve. More than welcome, in my book.

Hopefully Buffon will be playing when Juventus come to the OS in August

Dino Zoff was also a keeper and captain.

The Italians have real pride in playing for their Country.
Buffon still as hungry as ever at 38. No whingeing about wanting to retire from International football.
The Belgium's more concerned about their hairdos and captained by Hazzard, a man who cries off when it doesn't suit him and downs tools for a manager.

They've had a few top keepers over the years, Toldo, Peruzzi, Pagliuca were pre Buffon.

Buffon: ''I wanted to play for West Ham because of their supporters, they follow them with an extraordinary energy''
Apparently from his book

Agree that Italy look good enough to go all the way. They defended as well as ever, and could break like greased lightning, and could press the oppo back in teir own box . The complete package. France's defence will struggle to contain them. Fuck me, they usually start slow and get better. If that follows the same pattern, they'd be nailed on.
Also, I really like Buffon. Hasn't he expressed a soft spot for the Hammers? And who was Italy's previous keeper? Fucked if I remeber back that far.
